The results also showed that although there is no significant difference between girls and boys, 11 years old girls perform better than the corresponding boys in the tasks. The results suggest that during the concrete operational stage, children undergo separate cognitive development based on their genders, which reflects in their understandings of embodied metaphors. <br />Keywords: embodied metaphors, concrete operational stage, cognitive development, gender, age, children development این پژوهش به بررسی تاثیر سن و نیز جنسیت بر درک استعاره‌های بدنمند در مرحله رشد شناختی عملیاتی عینی در کودکان فارسی‌زبان می‌پردازد. در این پژوهش براساس دو آزمون تجربی (آزمونی دیداری و آزمونی شنیداری) رشد درک کودکان از استعاره‌های بدنمند را در گذار از ۸سالگی به ۱۲سالگی مورد ارزیابی قرار دادیم و نقش جنسیت را در هر یک از این دو سن بررسی کردیم. نتایج این پژوهش نشان داد که کودکان در این مرحله از رشد شناختی، رشد قابل توجهی را در درک استعاره‌های بدنمند تجربه می‌کنند. همچنین نتایج پژوهش نشان داد که هرچند در ۸سالگی تمایز معناداری بین دختران و پسران در درک استعاره‌های بدنمند مشاهده نمی‌شود، در ۱۲سالگی دختران عملکرد بهتری در این زمینه از خود نشان می‌دهند. این نتایج نشان می‌دهد که در طول مرحله عملیاتی عینی کودکان رشد شناختی متفاوتی را برحسب جنسیت‌شان تجربه می‌کنند که این تفاوت در درک استعاره‌های بدنمند بازتاب یافته است. https://sociolinguistics.journals.pnu.ac.ir/article_10326_07fd237e34188e4f7b3fdcdf590312cc.pdf
