Since the foundation of oppositions in any text is based on the confrontation between value/anti-value or positive/negative poles, it is possible to uncover the hidden ideology of a text by analyzing these structural contrasts in light of the author’s perspective. Rashid al-Din Fazlallah Hamadani, is among those political writers who made extensive and deliberate use of binary lexical pairs as a stylistic hallmark in his Sawanih al-Afkar. Accordingly, this study employs a descriptive–analytical and statistical method to analyze the structure of lexical oppositions in Rashid al-Din’s letters and to explore their ideological implications, based on Jones’s theory of binary oppositions. The research seeks to answer the following questions: Which type of opposition is used most frequently in these letters? And what underlying and dominant ideology governs Rashid al-Din’s correspondence through the use of various structural oppositions? To address these questions, 284 examples of oppositions were extracted. The findings indicate that the network of structural oppositions reflects an ideology that combines patriarchal authority, a normative and moral system centered on instruction, and a reformist orientation. آثار ادبی را می‌توان با دیدگاه‌های گوناگونی بررسید؛ از جملۀ این بررسی‌ها واکاوی زبانی و مفهومی در بستر تقابل‌های ساختاری است. با توجّه به این که اساس تقابل‌ها در هر متنی بر رویارویی سویه‌های ارزش/ ضدّ ارزش، و یا مثبت/ منفی است؛ می‌توان از خلال آن متن و با توجّه به نگرش صاحب اثر در کاربست تقابل‌های ساختاری، به ایدئولوژی پنهان در آن متن دست یافت. رشیدالدّین فضل الله از جمله نویسندگان سیاستمداری است که از جفت‌واژگان متقابل به عنوان شاخص سبکی در سوانح‌الافکار بهرۀ فراوانی برده است. در این جستار با روش توصیفی‌تحلیلی و آماری بر مبنای نظریۀ تقابل‌های دوگانۀ جونز در پی پاسخ به این پرسش‌ها هستیم که کدام نوع تقابل بیشترین کاربست را در این نامه‌ها داشته و نوع تقابل‌ها و رابطۀ آن‌ها نشانگر چیست؟ به عبارتی، ایدئولوژی نهفته در متن مکاتبات بر اساس کاربست انواع تقابل‌های ساختاری چیست؟ در پاسخ به این پرسش‌ها، ۲۸۴ نمونه از تقابل‌ها در مجموعه نامه‌های وی به نزدیکان حکومتی بررسی گردید. دستاوردهای این پژوهش، بازتاب‌دهندۀ ایدئولوژی‌ای است تلفیقی از اقتدار پدرسالارانه، نظام هنجاری اخلاقیِ تعلیم‌محور، و رویکرد اصلاح‌گرایانه که با بهره‌گیری از ابزارهای بلاغیِ تقابلی، می‌کوشد نوعی نظم معنوی و سیاسی‌ای را بر مخاطب تحمیل، تثبیت یا تدریجاً نهادینه سازد. https://sociolinguistics.journals.pnu.ac.ir/article_13104_22ceaf4db71cbcd6f656160821fef037.pdf
