Instructions to Authors

 

1. The Iranian Journal of Sociolinguistics, affiliated to Payame Noor University, publishes original contributions (both linguistic and interdisciplinary) on aspects of language and society including (but not limited to) the social embedding of language variation and change, issues of language contact and conflict, multilingualism, the social stratification of journalistic material and cyberspaces, issues of language and culture, the social stratification of language and identity, the development of language norms and the impact of language policies. Journal of Sociolinguistics also publishes book reviews of recent work in these domains.

2. Publication of article in this Journal is free.

3. Article submission and article processing in this journal is free.

4. Only Persian manuscripts will be accepted.

5. The papers should be submitted electronically with Microsoft Word 2007, only through journal website: http://sociolingustics.journals.pnu.ac.ir/author. Use 11 points Times New Roman font. Illustrations [line drawings (bitmap, 1200 dpi or higher) and pictures (300 dpi or higher)] should be as Adobe files. The authors are requested to write their full names, affiliations, academic ranks, emails and telephone numbers. Correspondence of the paper should be indicated.

6. An abstract of about 200 words should be given for the papers.

7. Address/addresses of the author/authors should be given after the abstract, full first name is necessary.

8. About 6 key words should be followed after the addresses.

9. A short headline of the title should be given on the first page.

10. Figures, tables and maps in the text should be cited as fig. 1; fig. 2, table 1, map 1…

11. Size of figures, tables and maps including footnote should be 22.516.5 cm or an appropriate size for desired reduction. Figures, tables and their footnotes should be on separate pages.

12. References in the text and at the end of the paper should follow APA standard.

13. References should be given at the end of the paper in alphabetical order. Papers of a single author are arranged according to the year of publication. If there is more than a paper in a year, they are marked by a, b, and etc. i. e 1998a, 1998b.
