Workplace violence is a significant form of organizational misconduct that disrupts not only employee safety but also the overall functioning of the organization. One specific manifestation of workplace violence is verbal abuse. Research indicates that the adverse consequences of verbal violence in organizations often go unnoticed due to its non-physical nature and lack of overt physical manifestation. The aim of the present qualitative study is to explore the experiences of female employees regarding the phenomenon of verbal abuse in the workplace. The participants in this study consisted of 25 female employees working in higher education institutions, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews, and data analysis was performed using a phenomenological approach based on the Colaizzi method. According to the findings, the primary theme regarding the nature of verbal abuse from the perspective of female employees pertains to gender-based verbal violence, which includes both "sexual" and "non-sexual" verbal abuse.

From the point of view of discourse semiotics, three elements of the subject, object and universe are involved in the process of meaning generation, on the basis of sensory-perceptual communication. This research aims to analyze the discourse space of Nowruz beyond the social actions and its anthroposemiotic functions. The main issue is to investigate Nowruz discourse with regard to the phenomenological presence of the human subject, the transfer of discursive spaces following collective interactions and the establishment of a matching system as a result of the transactional performance of collective subject. The question is how the Nowruz discourse, is able to create a relationship based on adaptation between humans and the universe? Considering that the intellectual foundation of semiotics is based on the principle of the dependence of meaning on the phenomenal presence of the subject and his interaction with the objects of the universe; the research method adopted based on this approach is the qualitative study of Nowruz spaces and the role of actors in the transfer of spaces. The findings of the research show that the semiosphere of Nowruz, with the possibility of transferring spaces, leads to the establishment of unity between humans and universe.

This study aims to examine the impact of storytelling on the communication skills of children aged 5 to 7 through a semiotic analysis of ten stories from the Berenstain Bears series. The semiotic analysis was conducted using Barthes’ five codes (hermeneutic, proairetic, symbolic, semantic, and cultural). The main research question is: What signs do the selected stories utilize to convey communicative actions? The findings revealed that the proairetic and symbolic codes were the most effective in teaching social behaviors and transmitting communication patterns due to their simple structure and easy comprehension for this age group. Additionally, the study showed that the hermeneutic code, by creating suspense and posing questions, stimulated children's curiosity and analytical thinking; however, due to its complexity, it was less comprehensible for this age group. The semantic code, given its implicit and indirect nature, was also used less frequently. The results highlight the importance of designing stories with accessible, simple, and cognitively appropriate codes for children.

Methodology: The data-gathering instruments include class observation, semi-structured interviews, researcher notes, audio-recorded files, and student journals. To analyze data, they ran MAXQDA analytic pro-2020 based on direct qualitative content analysis. Results: According to the seven principles of LS (Lee & Bucholtz, 2015), the results revealed eleven sub-categories: Behavioral adaptation in cyberspace, creating a common group language, sharing knowledge in new ways, digital support networks, developing social identity, reinforced negative politeness, strategic rotation, positive digital politeness, modulating humor, modulating hierarchy, and reviewing politeness. Conclusion: In conclusion, peers are very influential in the learners’ LS. Besides, Iranian EFL learners employed positive and negative politeness strategies in interacting with their teachers and peers. The implication of the study is for the researchers to become familiar with executing a netnography in virtual setting. Furthermore, this study have an implication for parents, teachers, and learners in that they should be so careful about the relation of the learners and peers and how much they can effect on their learning process.

The participants of this study, which included 50 (34 female and 16 male) Persian speakers, were undergraduates in various fields of study at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.. The results of this study showed that optimism in Persian proverbs is conceptualized through all three of these components. From the perspective of the first component, namely choice, in Persian proverbs, attention to the power of God, the beauties of creation, positive characteristics, blessings and opportunities, individual capabilities and positive consequences of actions are clearly seen, reflecting the fact that in the culture of Persian speakers there is a positive attitude towards the world and hope. In terms of logical interpretation, in Persian proverbs, the interpretation of events is based on external, unstable and controllable factors. In particular, the role of fate and God's will is the main factor in shaping regional events. These findings show that optimism among Persian speakers is associated with the belief in the prominent role of God in life and fate. Regarding expectation, in Persian proverbs, the expectation of help from God, the performance of others and positive behaviors are clearly seen. These findings also show that optimism in the culture of Persian speakers is associated with hope
